Choosing the right master’s program is a big step. As a former student in the Program in Interdisciplinary Studies at NSYSU, I spent my undergraduate years exploring different fields. During that time, I found that business management was the area I wanted to focus on. Because I already loved the environment at NSYSU, I decided to join the IBMBA program to use the great resources of the College of Management and build my professional skills.
One of my biggest challenges in the first semester was the Statistics course. As a complete beginner, I found it very difficult at first. However, the way the course was taught really helped me. Through case studies, group projects, and hands-on practice in the computer lab, I started to understand the concepts better. My biggest achievement was learning how to use SPSS. Since my previous experience was mostly in qualitative research, mastering a data analysis tool was a huge breakthrough for me.
The best part of being in an international program like IBMBA is the community. My most memorable experience so far is working with international students. In almost every class, we have group reports. During our meetings, I have the chance to see how classmates from different countries think and solve problems. This has not only improved my communication skills but also taught me new ways to search for academic literature and organize ideas.
Looking back on my first year, I am glad I chose this path. In the future, I hope to keep my passion for learning and make the most of this diverse environment. I am excited to find my own career path while working with peers from all over the world!
