After working for many years and reaching a management position, have you ever considered going back to school to further develop your skills? Returning to school had always been at the back of my mind, but as life got busier day by day, that thought gradually faded. It also takes real courage to step away from your business and refocus on studying.

During the pandemic, many industries were deeply affected, and businesses were forced to rethink their strategies. Increasingly, daily tasks were replaced by digital systems or overseas teams. This period pushed me to reflect on my future—what more could I do, and how could I strengthen my skills to stay competitive? The answer became clear: I needed to continue learning.

I chose to apply for the IBMBA program at NSYSU not only because all classes are taught in English, but also because of its truly international environment. The program brings together students from all over the world, giving local students valuable opportunities to interact, collaborate, and learn from different cultures. The curriculum offers a wide range of business- focused courses suitable for both students without a business background and those with extensive work experience. Beyond classroom learning, students also have opportunities to study overseas through exchange or dual-degree programs, gaining firsthand exposure to global business and culture.

Stanford was transformed by the Open Loop University concept, shifting from a traditional alumni model to one that embraces lifelong learning. Similarly, more universities in Taiwan welcome students to return to learning at different stages of life, allowing education to fit around personal schedules. If you have worked for a period of time and feel the desire to learn more, don’t hesitate. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.
