“A ship is safe in harbor, but that is not what ships are built for.” Indeed, genuine growth rarely emerges from comfort or safety, but it is forged through stepping beyond familiar boundaries, taking risks, and exploring the unknown. Guided by this belief, I chose to pursue the IBMBA program at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) to challenge myself and broaden my horizons.

What attracted me most when I applied for the IBMBA program is its well-designed curriculum, which addresses pressing global topics such as sustainability, leadership, international entrepreneurship, and so on. As a graduate majoring in International Business, these courses closely align with my academic interests while motivating me to explore new research directions. Through diverse student-centered learning activities such as debates, case discussions, and group projects, the program has created a collaborative environment in which students can learn from one another and grow together.

Equally meaningful to me is the open and supportive academic culture shaped by IBMBA professors and peers. With classmates from over 20 countries, diversity is not only present but genuinely valued. Students are encouraged to listen, engage thoughtfully, and approach differences with empathy, allowing me to feel confident and valued in sharing my own experiences and identity.

As a Vietnamese student living in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I feel fortunate to be part of such a safe and welcoming community. The coastal campus of NSYSU, along with the warmth and kindness of its students and faculty, has made my life abroad both comfortable and inspiring. Besides learning, I have also participated in several field trips, cultural walks, and tribe visits, all of which have enriched both my understanding and experience here.

I believe the IBMBA program offers meaningful opportunities for both professional and academic development. Supported by a strong global alumni network, it has laid a solid foundation for my aspiration to pursue further higher education. Much like a ship destined to sail beyond the harbor, IBMBA has equipped me with the confidence, skills, and global mindset to navigate greater challenges and continue my journey of growth beyond familiar shores.
