My name is Sandy. I am a local student from Kaohsiung and currently pursuing my master’s degree in the IBMBA and ACT program at National Sun Yat-sen University. With a background in English and German from Wenzao and three years of experience in international sales in the fastener industry, I decided to return to school to strengthen my business foundation and broaden my global perspective. One of the reasons was to connect practical work experience with more structured knowledge and prepare myself for future opportunities in international business.

The most attractive advantage in IBMBA for me is the strong international orientation. Half of the students in the program come from different countries, which creates a dynamic multicultural environment that challenges students to step out of their comfort zone. Through presentations, case discussions, and teamwork with classmates from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, we enhance our English-speaking confidence, critical thinking, and cross-cultural communication skills. Even without a business background, the curriculum helped build solid fundamentals in business, such as accounting, finance, economics, and supply chain management.

The international mobility of IBMBA is another highlight. There are a lot of opportunities for exchange and dual degree programs. I had the exchange experience before, so I joined the ACT dual degree program this time. We just completed the Canada module at the University of Victoria, where intensive coursework and multicultural collaboration accelerated my growth in foreign language speaking, presentation, and critical thinking skills. This really did enhance a lot of our cultural intelligence. We will learn consulting methods with real cases in the Taiwan and Austria module, which is practical for real life. We already spent almost four months with this cohort for the wonderful journey and really look forward to further enhancing our global mindset through this experience in the next five months.

I recommend IBMBA and ACT programs for people who are pursuing expanding international connections, enhancing cultural intelligence, and improving language ability. Choosing IBMBA would be the best decision to make. No matter if you have working experience or not, the program can expand your worldview, strengthen your professional abilities, and provide the confidence to pursue a more global and impactful career path. Moreover, having the mindset to keep learning and experiencing helps you have wonderful journey in both study and working life.
