Written by Celine Chen, Teaching Assistant, GHRM MBA

On May 7, students in the GHRM MBA program’s Consulting Methods & Practice visited BXB Electronics, a Kaohsiung-based company that is a leading provider of smart audio and video systems across the globe. The visit served as an important step in the students’ consulting project, in which they are tasked with developing recommendations to help address HR-related challenges within the company. Class teams will present their final consulting solutions to BXB on May 22, making this initial visit a valuable opportunity to better understand the organization and engage directly with its leadership team.

During the visit, BXB’s CEO, Penny, provided students with an overview of the company, including the evolution of its products, its international operations and markets, and several awards the business has received over the years since their founding. BXB’s motto, “Best x Best,” reflecting the belief that “good is never enough,” highlights their emphasis on continuous improvement and innovation. Students also learned about the company’s focus on delivering high-quality audiovisual technologies and solutions tailored to different organizational environments, including government, education, and private workplace sectors.

The majority of the visit centered around a discussion and Q&A session with CEO Penny and HR representative Tanny, who answered questions together and shared insights into the company’s operations and HR practices. Students asked about BXB’s digital transformation team and how the company is exploring new ways to implement AI tools effectively. Other questions focused on the challenges currently faced by the HR department, employer branding, collaboration across teams and departments. The discussion also explored the AI technologies used within BXB’s HR processes such as recruitment, resume screening, and training and development.

Overall, the visit gave students valuable firsthand exposure to the realities of organizational consulting. By interacting directly with company leadership and learning more about BXB’s operations and issues, each of the team representatives gained deeper context for their consulting projects and how to implement their proposed AI-driven solutions within a real business environment.
